Shutdown in Kakapora, other areas of Pulwama

Srinagar, August 09, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Kakapora and other towns of Pulwama district on the third consecutive day, today, against the killing of a youth by Indian troops. The youth, Talib Ahmad Shah, was killed by the troops during a violent operation at Astan Mohalla in Kakapora.

The troops had also destroyed two residential houses and damaged three others in the area. All shops, business establishments and educational institutions in Kakapora and adjoining towns of the district remained closed. The authorities have deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength to stop people from holding demonstrations against the killing.
