Sindh Chief Minister meets US Charge’d Affairs to Pakistan

Karachi, October 27, 2020 (PPI-OT):Ms Angela Aggeler, the Charge D’affaires of the United States Mission to Pakistan, called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and discussed matters of mutual interest. She was accompanied by American Consul General in Karachi Rob Siberstein. The chief minister while exchanging views with the visiting diplomat said that the recent heavy rains had turned thousands of people homeless in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas division. He thanked USAID who supported the people on the spot.

Shah said that his government had taken strict measures to contain coronavirus in the province. “We had closed school when the first case of COVID-19 was detected,” he said and added as a result, the virus was contained to some extent. The CM also discussed American funded projects such as Jacobabad Institute of medical Sciences and water supply scheme in Jacaobad and other projects in the education sector.

The visiting guest assured the chief minister that the American government would be supporting Sindh in the health and education sectors. The chief minister presented traditional gifts to the visiting diplomat and thanked her for the visit.

War Course delegation meets CM

A 226 member delegation of National Defence University (NDU) participants of National Security and War Course led by Air Vice Marshal Sabahat Hussain called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah here at CM House. The chief minister in his speech briefed the visiting delegation about the development endeavours of his government in different sectors such as coal energy, health, road, education and law and order.

Shah said that the mega projects have been launched on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. He pointed out Sir Aga Khan Bridge on River Indus at Jhirk-Mulakatiar, Hyderabad- Mirpurkhas Road, Thar Coal Mining and various others in the health sector. He added that Ghotki-Kandhkot Bridge in River Indus and Malir Expressway would be launched very soon on PPP mode. He replied to the questions of the delegation members. He presented the memento to the university head and they also presented their shield to the chief minister.
