Sindh Chief Minister urges National Accountability Bureau to stop witch-hunting in Sindh

Karachi, September 25, 2016 (PPI-OT): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has advised National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to stop witch-hunt in Sindh, this is not “your job to investigate small case but it is work of ACE.” This he said while talking to media just after performing concluding ceremony of Urs of Abdullah Shah Ghazi at his shrine at Clifton this evening.

Replying to a question, he said that he didn’t know whether the NAB has summoned Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani or not but “I would advise NAB to stop this kind of witch hunting. This harassment is against their mandate – this is the job of Anti- Corruption Establishment (ACE),” he said and added that his government was going to further strengthen ACE.

Replying to a question, Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the innocent workers of MQM would be released if they are taken into custody. “We don’t believe in victimisation and respect rights of each and every individual living here but simultaneously we would not allow anyone to take law into his or her hands,” he said loudly. He said the transfer of Inspector General of Police (IGP) is not under consideration.

Talking about development schemes, the chief minister said that he would personally keep visiting uplift works and would not allow any scheme working only on papers. “We have decided to put all the facts about development schemes on website right from approval to release of funds so that people get ownership of the uplift works in their area”, he said.

He said that his government was very clear on improving education system, health services and maintenance of law and order. “We have paid big price for this peace in the city, therefore would not allow anyone to vitiate it,” he said. Earlier, the chief minister laid floral wreath and chadar on the grave of Abdullah Shah Ghazi and offered fateha to concluded ritual of the three day urs. Latter, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah went to the residence of MPA Nusrat Khwaja to offer condolence of her brother Wazir Ali Khoja, a renowned banker.
