Sindh Governor urges people to promote peace, brotherhood

Karachi: Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan has urged the people to forge unity in their ranks, promote peace, brotherhood and foil evil designs of elements indulged to destabilise the country. “The day of Eidul Azha gives us a clear message of sacrifice and tolerance,” he said in his message on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

He said the philanthropists and well-to-do people should also not forget the poor and destitute people on this occasion and may make arrangements so that others could also be part of the celebration. He also asked the elected representatives to go to their respective constituencies and serve the flood affected poor masses on the occasion so that they should not feel deprived.

Dr Ebad said that the rains displaced over 8.5 million people in the province and despite resource constraints all efforts have been made to provide them all relief including food, medical and communication facilities. Referring to the law and order situation, he said that our religion preaches peace and there was no space for act of terrorism as Islam is a religion of peace.
