Single Sales Tax Return System Successfully Tested by Oil and Gas Company Limited

Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced the successful completion of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the Single Sales Tax Return (SSTR) system on September 24, 2024. The testing, conducted by Oil and Gas Company Limited, marks a significant step towards simplifying tax processes across various sectors, following its initiation in the telecom sector.

According to Federal Board of Revenue announcement issued on 24 September 2024, the UAT event was attended by key stakeholders including the Member IR-Policy, Member Reforms and Modernization, Chief ST and FE Policy, and the Director of the Pakistan Raises Revenue Program. Additionally, representatives from PRAL and the FBR IT team, along with officials from Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), participated in the technical session held at FBR headquarters.

The rollout of the SSTR is planned to extend beyond the telecom sector after comprehensive consultations with stakeholders. This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the FBR to enhance tax administration and compliance through technological advancements and streamlined procedures.
