SIU Charges Four Kashmiri Youths in Controversial Case in Kulgam

Srinagar, In a significant legal development, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has submitted a chargesheet against four Kashmiri youths to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Kulgam, located in the contentious region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the police disclosed that the chargesheet concerns Jan Mohammad Lone, Bilal Ahmad Butt, Sameer Ahmad Sheikh, and Abid Ramzan Sheikh. The charges are linked to case FIR No. 65/2022 at the Police Station in Kulgam and were presented before the Court of Special Judge (Designated Court under NIA) in Kulgam. Notably, three of the accused, Lone, Butt, and Sheikh, have been killed, while Sheikh remains alive.

This legal action by the SIU marks another chapter in the ongoing tensions and legal proceedings affecting the youth in the region, drawing attention to the complex and often controversial nature of law enforcement operations in Kashmir.
