SM Tanveer was elected unanimously Patron-in-Chief of United Business Group

Karachi, April 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):United Business Group (UBG) central core committee meeting was held yesterday. Chairman UBG Shahzad Ali Malik hosted the meeting. Businessmen representatives from all over Pakistan participated in the meeting and all four provinces. The members of the central core committee unanimously elected young business leader SM Tanveer as the Patron-in-Chief of UBG. The position of Patron-in-Chief was vacant due to the death of SM Muneer, father of SM Tanveer and prominent leader of the world of commerce.

According to the statement issued by the Central Spokesperson Gulzar Feroze Chairman UBG Shehzad Ali Malik, President Zubair Tufail, Riazuddin Sheikh, former presidents of FPCCI Abdul Rauf Alam were present in the meeting., Engineer Daru Khan, Ghazan Farbulor, former Senior Vice President FPCCI Khalid Tawab, Secretary General Sindh Region UBG Hanif Gohar, Zafar Bakhtauri, Amjad Chaudhry, Malik Sohail Hussain, Abdul Rauf Mukhtar and others expressed their views while in the meeting, former Chairman Aptama Gohra Ijaz., Ahmad Chinoy, Zahid Iqbal Chaudhry, Atif Ikram Sheikh, Manzoorul Haq Malik, Haji Atta-ul-Rehman, Amir Atta Bajwa, Dr. Nauman Butt, Haji Afzal, Mian Zahid Hussain, Moomin Ali Malik, Muhammad Yasin, Mian Zafar Iqbal, Pirnazem Hussain, Khawaja Zarrar, Jawad Kazmi. Azizul Rahman Chan, Qazi Muhammad Akbar, Mumtaz Sheikh, Chaudhry Rashid Hameed and other business leaders participated. SM Tanveer thanked the UBG Central Core Committee and UBG Sindh Core Committee for electing the Patron General UBG unopposed.

On this occasion, SM Tanveer said that the position of Patron-in-Chief is a great honour for him as my father SM Munir served the business community for years in this position. I will not only keep the UBG united but make it active across the country as before. We will bring back the disgruntled people from the group, now we need more than pictures and statements to serve the business community,” he said.

They have to go to the door of the government, find out their problems from them and convey them to the government. FPCCI has to be made an authentic, strong and active institution once again so that the financial crisis there can end. President UBG Zubair Tufail said that SM Tanveer will lead our group from strength to strength as the Chairman. He said that during the last three years the problems of the business community could not be solved by FPCCI and the current ruling group failed to represent the business community. But our group will once again come to power and make the Federation Chamber strong and stable.

Shahzad Ali Malik expressed his belief that SM Tanveer as Patron-in-Chief will be able to keep the business community united like his father SM Munir. Khalid Tawab and Hanif Gohar said that the UBG Sindh Core Committee has the honoru of presenting the name of SM Tanveer as the Patron General before the Central Core Committee. Apart from this, after SM Muneer was unanimously elected as the Patron-in-Chief of United Business Group, Central Spokesperson UBG Gulzar Feroze, Naveed Bukhari (Canada), Noor Ahmad Khan, Sheikh Umar Rehan, Zubair Chaya, President Kati Farazur Rahman, Zahid Saeed, Akhtiar Baig and other leaders. Congratulation to SM Tanveer for being elected Patron General UBG.
