Sri Lankan Consul General calls on Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah

Karachi, November 08, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that Sindh Government was giving top priority to have qualitative educational and learning facilities to the people of Sindh and it was planning to apply the modern and successful methodologies of other countries as well that excel in the field of education.

This he said while talking to the Consul General (CG) of Sri Lanka Mr. H.M.B Herath who called on him at CM House on Friday morning. Sindh Chief Minster lauding the excellence, performance and achievements of Sri Lanka in the field of education, desired for getting benefit from their experience, methodologies and expertise and added that Sindh government would exchange its delegation with Sri Lanka for this purpose.

He informed Sri Lankan CG that after the 18 constitutional amendments by previous PPP government in the centre with the cooperation of other parties, provinces have been more empowered in various subjects /fields including education.

He said that no nation can prosper even survive without standard education; we are planning an effective education system that to enable to deliver in efficient manner and to provide qualitative education to the people.

He added that like other countries his government intends to seek help from Sri Lanka in this sector. Sindh CM informed the diplomat that Karachi is large cosmopolitan city of subcontinent and is hub of business and commerce activities.

He invited the Sri Lankan businessman for bilateral trade. Sindh CM further said that Pakistan enjoys warm friendly relations with Sri Lanka since long. “We want to further strengthen and promote bilateral cooperation in various fields” he added.

Sri Lankan CG Mr. H.M.B Herath while endorsing the Sindh Chief Minister assured that his country is ready to extend every possible cooperation for promotion of standard education in Sindh. He also expressed his interest to further enhance the bilateral trade between his country and Sindh province and added that exchange of delegation visits would further open the avenues of opportunities for development in various fields.
