State Bank of Pakistan and Commercial Banks communicating with each other through already existing Knowledge Management Module: President SCCI

Sialkot, December 23, 2019 (PPI-OT): On December the 20th, 2019, President SCCI, Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Malik while addressing to a seminar organized in collaboration with State Bank of Pakistan, Sialkot, said that exporters of Sialkot Industry were facing problems related to their cases delayed by the Commercial Banks, especially the pendency in the cases related to Foreign Exchange, DLTL and Rebate. He further said that State Bank of Pakistan and Commercial Banks were communicating with each other through already existing Knowledge Management Module.

President SCCI added that as the exporters were given access to the Module so that a real-time update on the pending cases between State Bank of Pakistan and Commercial Banks would be accessible by the clients. He also said that such initiatives would further improve the Ease of Doing business ranking of Pakistan and also decrease the pendency of the cases of the exporters.

Mr. Ansar Iftikhar Butt, Chief Manager, State Bank of Pakistan, Sialkot thanked President SCCI Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Malik and Mr. Shafique Ur Rehman Chairman Departmental Committee on Banking and Finance for the support in organizing the seminar. He also said that the SBP was working to lessen the human interaction and converting the systems into an automated and paperless environment, where the user would not be bound to come to the Banks and also would not be bound by the working hours.

Mr. Shakeel Muhammad Paracha, HOD, Foreign Exchange Operations Department, SBP BSC Head Office Karachi, while addressing to the seminar, gave a thorough demonstration of the Knowledge Management Module and said that SBP took this initiative to decrease the human interactions and instant resolution of the pending cases, either from SBP side or from Commercial Banks. He further that SBP was also developing a framework that would bring interaction less and automated banking system across Pakistan and would link end-users to it, giving maximum access to the clients from their homes and offices.
