Karachi, December 07, 2015 (PPI-OT):Chairman Sindh Board of Investment, Dr. Asif A. Brohi, has said that Sindh had huge amount of marbles and granite reserves, and the Government of Sindh has established “Sindh Stone Development Company” which has developed a State of the Art Marble City Industrial Enclave on 300 Acres to promote the marble and granite sector in Sindh. The Marble City project has tremendous investment and growth potential for entrepreneurs being based on cutting edge stone technology, innovation and services.
The concept is based on cutting edge stone technology and custom facilities to create largest and most technologically advanced industrial park for Dimension Stone (Marble and Granite) in Karachi. It would create more than 15000 jobs opportunities. A total of 170 small marble processing units along with training centre, warehouse, common facilities would also be established in the Marble City. He further informed that marble City Project would be executed under the SEZs Act 2012. This he said today while talking to the Italian Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Mr. Stefans Pontecorvo, in his SBI office.
On this occasion H.E Ambassador informed that Italian investors were keen interested to invest and trade in Pakistan especially in Sindh. He also informed that Italian investors have shown their interest to invest for value addition in Textile, Agro Technology, Agri Business, Dairy Farming, Milk Production, and other sectors.
Later on, Director General Sindh Board of Investment Iftikhar Ali Shallwani, informed that three days International Business Round of Negotiations would be held in March 2016. This conference will showcase the investment prospects exist in different sectors of Sindh. He requested the Ambassador of Italy to invite the Italian business man and investor to attend the event.
