Strike, anti-India protests in Islamabad district

Srinagar, October 20, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed on the second consecutive day, today, across Islamabad district against the killing of truck driver, Zahid Rasool Butt, by Hindu fanatics. All shops, educational institutions and offices are closed while traffic is off the road. On the other hand, anti-India protests and clashes between protesters and Indian paramilitary personnel erupted at Khanabal, Lazibal, Nandpora, Bijbehara and other areas of the district after Indian policemen beat up and thrashed pedestrians in Lal Chowk area of the town.

Indian police and troops used brute force, fired tear gas shells and pellets on protesters in which several people were injured. Meanwhile, Hurriyet leaders including Yasmeen Raja, Muhammad Ramazan Khan, Maulvi Bashir Ahmad, Farooq Ahmad Tauhidi, Engineer Farooq Ahmed, Ghazi Manzoor and Shakeel Ahmed Butt, during their visit to the family of the martyred driver at Botengo in Islamabad, today, urged the international community to take notice of the continued human rights violations by Indian troops in the occupied territory. They reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the ongoing liberation struggle till freedom from the Indian bondage.
