Sufism is heritage of Islamic Ummah and is a galvanizing force among Muslims

Abu Dhabi, November 06, 2012 (PPI-OT): Sufism is the heritage of the Islamic Ummah throughout the world and is a galvanizing force among the Muslims. Not only the menace of extremism and terrorism could be addressed the practice and promotion of Sufism, but this is also a real power that touches the souls of Muslims throughout the universe. Sufism can serve as a tool and engine to help resolve various emerging issues of the region.

This was stated by Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE, Mr. Jamil Ahmed Khan during his meeting with His Excellency Al Sayyed Ali Al Hashimi, Advisor of the President of the UAE on Religious and Judicial Affairs.

Recalling the bondage of the UAE and Pakistan relations based on shared faith, proximity and people to people affiliations, Jamil Khan stated that more than ever it is becoming increasingly essential not only maintain strong relations but to take them to new heights.

His Excellency Al Sayyed Ali Al Hashimi recounted the contributions made by Pakistan and its community in building various institutions in the UAE. He said that the coordination between the two countries should continue to have close collaboration among the Islamic scholars of the two countries. HE Sayyed Ali Hashimi encouraged holding combined Sufi events with a fusion of Arab and Pakistan artists.

Responding, Ambassador Jamil Ahmed Khan announced staging a “Samaeh” and “Qawali” event in the coming days. He went on stating that such events would be a demonstration of common cultural and religious background of the two countries.
