Sweden envoy calls on Sindh Chief Minister

Karachi, May 24, 2016 (PPI-OT):Sweden Ambassador Ms Ingrid Johansson called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and discussed bilateral issues and investment opportunities in Sindh. The chief minister said that there were vast wind and solar power corridors in the province where huge investment opportunities are available.

He added that in Thar coalfield there are vast coals reserves on which China, Australia and some other countries have started working. Sindh government is also working with Engro -power in partnership to establish coal-fired power plant. The ambassador said that she would discuss the opportunities in energy sector with her government and business community.

She also discussed the heat stroke issues due to sweltering weather with the chief minister. The chief minister apprised her about rapid response centres set up all over the city of Karachi to deal with the cases. The chief minister presented her a memento of the CM House and traditional khes to the visiting diplomat.
