UBL Announces Second Interim Cash Dividend and Book Closure for 2024

Karachi: The Board of Directors of United Bank Limited (UBL) announced a Second Interim cash dividend at Rs.11 per share, which equates to 110%, for the year 2024. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the dividend resolution was made during the board meeting on July 31, 2024. The share transfer books of UBL will be closed from August 12, 2024, to August 13, 2024, to determine the entitlement of the dividend. All transfers must be received by M/s. THK Associates (Pvt.) Limited, the bank’s Registrar and Share Transfer Agent, by the close of business on August 9, 2024, to be eligible for the dividend.

In compliance with Section 242 of the Companies Act, 2017 and the Companies (Distribution of Dividends) Regulation 2017, UBL requires shareholders to receive dividends through electronic deposit directly into their designated bank accounts. Shareholders must furnish their bank details including the bank name, branch address, and International Bank Account Number (IBAN) to the Shares Registrar to facilitate this process.

Furthermore, the bank advises shareholders who have unclaimed dividends or share certificates to contact THK Associates in Karachi to claim their assets. UBL has issued notices and published information in major newspapers to alert shareholders of the need to claim their dividends and share certificates.

Additionally, in accordance with Section 72 of the Companies Act, 2017, UBL is encouraging shareholders to convert their physical shares into book-entry form to comply with regulatory requirements. Shareholders can seek assistance from a Broker, a PSX Member, CDC Participant, or CDC Investor Account Service for the conversion process.

The bank has also placed its Condensed Interim Financial Statements for the six months ended June 30, 2024, on its website. Shareholders interested in obtaining a printed copy of these documents can request one through the Share Registrar or the bank’s Registered Office in Islamabad.
