Islamabad Approves Plans for International Standard Safari Park

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has officially approved the establishment of a world-class safari park in Islamabad, aimed at enhancing recreational facilities and boosting tourism in the capital. This initiative marks a significant development in the city’s efforts to provide high-standard leisure options to its residents and visitors.

According to Press Information Department, the decision was made during a meeting chaired by Minister Naqvi at the CDA Headquarters, where the proposals for the safari park were thoroughly reviewed. CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa provided a detailed briefing on the project, outlining plans for a 200-acre facility that will eventually house approximately 5,000 animals and birds, with an initial phase featuring 2,000.

Minister Naqvi has directed that the safari park be registered with the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums to ensure international standards are met. He emphasized the urgency of finalizing all project-related matters and set a directive for the foundation stone to be laid in October. The establishment of the safari park is expected to significantly increase tourism and provide a new landmark for the city.
