UNESCO Chief Condemns Killing of Journalist in Pakistan

Islamabad, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay has strongly condemned the recent killing of journalist Kamran Dawar in Tappi village, North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, on May 21.

According to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Azoulay called for a comprehensive investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing the critical role journalists play in informing the public and their right to protection against violence. This statement aligns with UNESCO’s ongoing efforts to promote the safety of journalists worldwide and combat impunity for crimes against media workers.
