Srinagar: In a recent security operation at Srinagar International Airport in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police arrested a US citizen found carrying a satellite phone, an item prohibited in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the arrest was made during a routine search operation. SHO Humhama, Muhammad Adil Dar, confirmed the incident, noting that the American was unaware that possession of satellite phones was illegal in the area. Dar stated that the individual is now in custody and a formal case is pending registration.

The incident highlights the strict regulations regarding communication devices in sensitive regions and underscores the potential legal risks for international travelers unaware of local laws.
