WAPDA Athlete excels in Indonesia Asian Para Games 2018; All 3 medals win by WAPDA Athlete for Pakistan

Lahore, October 17, 2018 (PPI-OT): Representing Pakistan in Indonesia Asian Para Games 2018, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) athlete, Haider Ali outclassed his competitors and showed exceptional performance by winning two gold and one bronze medal for the country. The event was held in Jakarta, Indonesia from October 06 to 13, 2018. As many as 44 countries participated in the event.

Pakistan contingent that participated in the 8-day event comprised of 11 athletes. It is pertinent to mention that all the medals including two gold and one bronze were won by WAPDA athlete for Pakistan. In an unprecedented move, Haider Ali grabbed two gold medals in Discuss Throw and Javelin Throw categories, while he also secured one bronze medal in Long Jump category.

WAPDA players have not only been showing their class at the national level but also bringing laurels to Pakistan in international competitions. Apart from achievements at international level, WAPDA is national champion in 33 sports and runners-up in 19 disciplines. WAPDA is the biggest employer of sportspersons in Pakistan, as more than 2100 players and sport officials are associated with various units of WAPDA Sports Board across the country.
