World should understand seriousness of Kashmir dispute: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, January 24, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has asked the international community to understand the seriousness of the Kashmir dispute. Mirwaiz in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Besides the international community, it is also the responsibility of the Pakistan-India leadership to involve the people of Kashmir in a meaningful dialogue process to find an agreeable and durable solution to the Kashmir dispute so that the dangers hovering over the region could be ended.”He said until the issue is resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, a lasting peace in South Asia would continue to be impossibility.

“Kashmiris’ just struggle cannot be suppressed by using military might and committing atrocities like killings of innocent civilians, use of excessive force on common masses, and ban on peaceful political, religious or social activities of the resistance leadership. The international community must take serious note of these human rights violations and use its influence on New Delhi to stop committing atrocities on Kashmiris,” he said. Meanwhile, an APHC delegation visited the Nayan Batapora, Pulwama, residence of the martyred youth, Parvez Ahmad Guru and expressed sympathy with his bereaved family.
