World urged to help resolve Kashmir dispute

Srinagar, June 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other Hurriyet leaders have called upon the international community to come forward for resolving the Kashmir dispute in the interest of lasting peace in the region.

Hurriyet leaders made these assertions, today, at a seminar, which was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian in connection with the death anniversary of the Iranian revolutionary leader, Aayatullah Imam Ruhollah Khomeini.

Besides Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, other speakers who addressed the seminar included Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik and the Iranian envoy in New Delhi, Aaqai Jawadi.

APHC leader, Nayeem Ahmed Khan during his visit to the family members of Muhammad Afzal Guru at Doabgah in Sopore said that hanging of Muhammad Afzal Guru was the result of India’s anti-Kashmir policy that was why he was not provided a fair trial in the court.

Another APHC leader, Zafar Akbar Butt, visited Pulwama and expressed solidarity with the families of two youth who were recently martyred by Indian troops. Addressing a condolence meeting on the occasion, he urged India to fulfil the promises made by its leaders with the Kashmiris of giving them an opportunity to decide their political future by themselves.

The authorities did not shift illegally detained senior liberation leader, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, from Jammu’s Udhampur jail to Srinagar in violation of court orders.

A Srinagar-based human rights watchdog, Voice of Victims, in a statement said that the occupation authorities were using the so-called Human Rights Commission to cover up the discovery of thousands of unmarked graves in the territory.
