It also said that 6,221 persons were injured in pellet firing between July 2016 to February 2017.

The pellet guns were first introduced in occupied Kashmir during the 2010 mass uprising. In another written reply to the so-called Assembly, the Home Department of the territory said that 14,210 youth were arrested on the charges of stone pelting during the past three years of PDP-BJP regime in occupied Kashmir.
