1st Ph.D. in Management

Lahore: Mr. Zia Ullah has completed his Ph.D. in Management from the Institute of Administrative Sciences under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Jadoon. Dr. M. Tariq Siddiqui, ex Vice-Chancellor, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad was the Co-Supervisor. Mr. Zia Ullah is the 1st candidate who has completed his Ph.D. in Management from the Institute of Administrative Sciences.

A public defence/viva voce of his doctoral thesis was held on Tuesday January 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Seminar Hall of the Institute of Administrative Sciences, University of the Punjab, Lahore. The title of his thesis is “Towards Quality Assessment Model of a Teaching Hospital: A Study of Mayo Hospital, Lahore. His thesis was evaluated by two foreign examiners, Prof. Paul Verweel from University of Utrecht, Holland and Prof. Mike P. Walsh, University of Stirling, UK. Both the examiners gave excellent remarks and appreciated the research work done by the researcher.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Anwar (Retired Chairman), Department of Sociology, University of the Punjab has conducted his viva voce as external examiner. Prof. Dr. Nasira Jabeen, Director, Institute of Administrative Sciences, faculty members and a large number of M.Phil. and Ph.D. students attended the public defence. Mr. Zia Ullah presented an excellent presentation regarding the research work and answered the questions of the audience.
