34th National Games Quetta, Punjab police 442-member squad of players and officials ready

Lahore, May 02, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar invited the players and match officials of the Punjab Police contingent participating in the 34th National Games to the Central Police Office. Athletics, Badminton, Baseball, Karate, Weightlifting, Wushu, Body Building, Asian Style Kabaddi, in total 27 sports competitions are being participated by Punjab Police players and teams, while 70 women players are also included in the police force.

Talking to the national players, IG Punjab said that all the teams and players should continue to work hard and practice for the best performance and all the players should win more medals and bring honour to the police department.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that the player who won the gold medal in the individual competitions will be given three rupees, the silver medallist will be given two rupees, and the bronze medallist will be given one lakh rupees, while the police martyrs and Like Ghazis, a special wall will be created for athletes who have won medals in sports, on which their names and victories will be detailed.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that Director General Pakistan Police Sports Board should ensure priority measures for the convenience of police players and all players should continue their training with hard work and enthusiasm. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that police athletes participating in national competitions are a valuable asset of the department and measures will continue to encourage them at all levels.

Speaking at the event, Director General Pakistan Police Sports Board, Additional IG Welfare Riaz Nazir Gada said that the police athletes are working hard for the national competitions and inshallah the best performance in the competitions will bring encouraging results. Chief Sports Officer DIG Logistics Athar Ismail and DIG Welfare Ghazi Salah Uddin also addressed the players and encouraged them.

The event was attended by patron officers of various sports, former Olympians, officials, referees and champion athletes who reiterated their commitment to improve the quality of training and expressed their passion for excellence. Director General Pakistan Police Sports Board, Additional IG Welfare Riaz Nazir Gada, Chief Sports Officer DIG Logistics Athar Ismail, DIG Traffic Mirza Faran Baig and a large number of veteran players, coaches and players were also present in the ceremony.
