A delegation of Pakistan National Heart Association calls on president

Islamabad, January 13, 2014 (PPI-OT): A Delegation of Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) led by its Chairman Maj Gen ® Masud Ur Rehman Kiani called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr today.

The delegation besides its Chairman included Maj Gen ® Muhammad Ashraf Khan, Mr. Mahboob Elahi, Dr Abdul Qayyum Awan and Sqn Leader Ghulam Abbas.

Chairman PANAH, Major Gen ® Masud Ur Rehman Kiani, apprised the President about Pakistan National Heart Association, aims and objectives of its establishment and the various achievements of the association in prevention of heart diseases in the country.

He informed that the main objective of the PANAH is to disseminate information about spread of Heart disease, its causative and risk factors, their control and modification so as to prevent, minimize and control the miseries and fatalities due to angina, heart failure and heart attack in the country.

The Association besides educating the general public was also imparting training regarding recognition of Cardiac Arrest so as to immediately carry out the drill of CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) to save the life at the site of occurrence of Heart Attack.

The President appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan National Heart Association to prevent, minimize and control the fatal heart related diseases in Pakistan and emphasized the need for comprehensive Heart Disease prevention programme to save precious human lives. He urged for making all out efforts to create awareness among the general public about heart diseases, its main causes and preventive measures to avert heart related diseases.
