Indian Troops Conduct Cordon and Search Operations Across Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Indian military and police forces have initiated multiple cordon and search operations (CASOs) across various districts in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, leading to tensions in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the operations involved personnel from the Indian army, paramilitary units, and local police. These forces carried out searches in Bandipora, Shopian, Poonch, Rajouri, and Kathua districts. Local reports from the region suggest that the operations have included the interrogation and harassment of residents, particularly young people and women, under the guise of searching for freedom activists.

The ongoing operations have focused on several areas, including Aragam, Chotipora, Azaad Mohalla, Khalsa Chowk, and Manjakote. The actions of the troops have raised concerns about the impact on the civilian population in these districts.
