Acquisition of M.V. “SIBI”

Karachi: Pakistan National Shipping Corporation on 18th May 2011 acquired a Handy size Bulk Carrier named “SIBI” for its subsidiary company, M/s. Sibi Shipping (Private) Limited.

The M.V. SIBI is 28,442 metric tonnes deadweight; Handy size Bulk Carrier built in 2009 by Imabari Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., Marugame, Japan. The vessel was purchased from a company named Arista One Inc, and taken over at Port Klang, Malaysia.

The acquisition of M.V. Sibi is in line with PNSC’s commitment to modernization, development and strengthening of the National Flag Carrier of Pakistan to better serve Pakistan’s trade and of the world at large.
