Indian Troops Arrest Youth in Shopian During Search Operation

Srinagar, In a recent security operation, Indian troops arrested a youth in the Shopian district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, escalating tensions in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the arrest occurred during a cordon and search operation conducted by the troops in the Chotipora area of the district. The Indian police have labeled the detained individual as an overground worker, a term used to describe civilians suspected of supporting militant activities. Authorities claimed that arms and ammunition were found in the youth’s possession, which they used to justify the arrest.

The incident adds to the ongoing strife in the area, where operations such as these are frequent and often result in accusations of human rights violations.
