Pakistan Naval Chief Bolsters Maritime Ties with China During Qingdao Visit

Islamabad, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf recently visited the headquarters of China’s People’s Liberation Army Navy in Qingdao, China, where he met with his counterpart, Chinese Navy Commander Admiral Hu Zhongming. The visit focused on enhancing bilateral naval cooperation and discussing regional maritime security.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the meetings, Admiral Ashraf underscored the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to regional maritime peace and stability, particularly through its Maritime Security Patrol initiatives. The discussions also highlighted the mutual benefits of strong maritime cooperation between the two navies.

Commander Hu Zhongming of the People’s Liberation Army Navy lauded the Pakistan Navy’s contributions to joint maritime security efforts in the region. Both leaders agreed on the importance of continuing to strengthen the naval relationship, which is seen as pivotal to the defense relations between Pakistan and China.

This visit is expected to further expand the defense ties between the two countries, enhancing cooperation not just at the naval level but across all armed forces sectors.
