Afghan Refugees to observe the law of land and refrain from ill-legal activities: Commissioner Kohat

Peshawar: The Commissioner Kohat Division Sahibzada Muhammad Anis has asked the Afghan Refugees to observe the law of land and refrain from ill-legal activities or otherwise stern action would be taken against the defaulters.

This, he said, while presiding over a high level meeting at Commissioner Office, Kohat. Present on the occasion were Senior Protection Officer of UNHCR Urooj Saifi, Changaiz Khan UNHCR Officer Kohat, SSP Investigation Atiqullah Khan Wazir, DCO Karak Muhammad Zubair , DCO Kohat Shahidullah Khan , DCO Hangu Abdul Kamal Khattak, Additional Commissioner Afghan Refugees Waqar Maroof and Commissioner Afghan Refugees Syed Zaheerul Islam.

Various issues regarding the Afghan Refugees were discussed threadbare in the meeting. The commissioner Sahibzada asked the afghan brethrens to observe code of conduct and maintain law and order in their respective areas. He said, government was taking every measure to ensure their peaceful living in Pakistan in general and Kohat Division in particular.

Sahibzada Muhammad Anis said the UNHCR authorities to provide all kinds of basic amenities to afghan refugees in repatriation and living in kohat division.

The Commissioner Anis Khan asked the police authorities to provide all legal cover to the identity card holders of afghan nationals and directed them not to tear their identity cards while checking them. He warned action would be taken against such police personnel who were found tearing afghan refugees cards.

Sahibzada asked the afghan refugees to refrain from anti social activities. He said that stern action would be taken against the refugees who were involved in anti state and social evils.
