Air Marshal Farhat Hussain Khan Appointed vice Chief of the Air Staff

Islamabad, June 10, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Government of Pakistan has appointed Air Marshal Farhat Hussain Khan as Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force.

Air Marshal Farhat Hussain Khan was commissioned in General Duties (Pilot) Branch of PAF on 06 March, 1977. During his career, he has served as fighter pilot in various fighter squadrons and has flown almost all the modern weapon systems of Pakistan Air Force.

He has commanded a fighter squadron, a fighter wing and an operational PAF Air Base. He has qualified Combat Commanders’ Course and PAF Air War Course. He is also a graduate of National Defence University (NDU) and holds a Master Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies.

During his long and illustrious service in PAF, he remained on various important command and staff appointments and has also served as Air Attaché in India. Air Marshal has also served as Chief Project Director (JF-17) at AHQ and his last assignment was Chairman, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Board (PACB) at Kamra.

He is a recipient of Hilala-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-i-Basalat.
