Aleem Khan Directs Immediate Action on Motorway Upgrades

Lahore: Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has mandated swift action to resolve issues concerning Motorways, with a specific focus on the enhancement of rest areas. He gave these directives during a meeting with officers from the National Highway Authority and the Frontier Works Organization while on his visit to the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2).

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister instructed both organizations to prepare a comprehensive report within fifteen days aimed at improving the Motorway database. During his visit, Abdul Aleem Khan conducted an in-depth inspection of several rest areas, including Sukhiki, Sial, and Bhera. He reviewed the facilities available at these locations, such as tuck shops, mosques, washrooms, and the overall infrastructure.

In response to the observed deterioration and inadequate conditions, Abdul Aleem Khan directed the relevant authorities to implement immediate and effective remedial measures. He emphasized the necessity for expanding, renovating, and modernizing the rest areas on the M-2 Motorway to align with contemporary standards.

Aleem Khan also highlighted the importance of maintaining a uniform layout for shops at Motorway rest areas and ensuring that food items are available at officially notified prices.
