Amarnath Yatra Set to Begin on June 29 in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, The annual Amarnath Yatra, a significant Hindu pilgrimage, is scheduled to commence on June 29 in the region referred to as Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, registration for participants wishing to join this year’s pilgrimage will open tomorrow, April 15. The Amarnath Shrine Board has announced that the yatra will span 50 days, concluding on August 19.

The pilgrimage takes place amid a backdrop of political tension, as the report criticizes the Narendra Modi-led government for allegedly prioritizing this Hindu festival while imposing restrictions on Muslim religious gatherings in the region. Recently, authorities reportedly locked down the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, preventing the observance of Jumatul-Wida and Eid prayers.
