APHC concerned over police excesses in downtown Srinagar

Srinagar, March 24, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has expressed serious concern over the reign of terror unleashed by Indian police and troops in downtown area of Srinagar.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced arrest of youth, harassment of residents, use of pepper gas on protesters and in residential houses and other excesses by Indian police and troops in the area. He said that such tactics could not intimidate the Kashmiris into submission.

A team of APHC visited Tajgiri area of Srinagar and expressed solidarity with the people whose houses were gutted in a devastating fire incident, the other day.

Meanwhile, an APHC delegation headed by senior Hurriyet leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, has returned to Srinagar after participating in Pakistan Day function held in New Delhi.
