APHC Extends Greetings to Pakistan on Independence Day, Criticizes Indian Occupation

Srinagar: Leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) have extended their warm wishes to Pakistan on the eve of its Independence Day, celebrated on August 14, while simultaneously condemning India’s role in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas expressed in a statement from Srinagar that India has no right to celebrate its Independence Day, accusing it of illegally occupying Jammu and Kashmir and violating the basic human rights of its people. APHC leaders, including several who are currently imprisoned, echoed sentiments of gratitude towards Pakistan for its support and highlighted the importance of resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and UN resolutions.

The statement detailed the sentiments of multiple APHC leaders who regard Pakistan as a beacon of hope for Muslims across South Asia. They stressed that peace in the region hinges on the resolution of the Kashmir conflict. APHC-AJK leaders in Islamabad reiterated the deep ties between the Kashmiri and Pakistani people, underscoring a shared history and future aspirations. They called for continued Pakistani support on political and diplomatic fronts, emphasizing that the fulfillment of Pakistan’s potential is intertwined with the freedom of Kashmir from Indian control.
