Arrangements to provide wheat to 2,59,000 drought affected families of Tharparkar has been made by Sindh Government: Taj Haider

Karachi, March 16, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Co-ordinator to CM Sindh Mr. Taj Haider has said that the arrangements to provide wheat to 2,59,000 drought affected families at District Tharparkar has been made by the Sindh Government and assured that each affected family to get the relief from Government.

In his statement issued here today Mr. Taj Haider ruled out the impression that the wheat stock at the gudowns of Tharparkar has been finished. He said that each wheat gudowns at District Tharparkar still containing the wheat stock there.

He said that supply of additional 44,000 wheat bags was in progress out of which supply of 22,000 wheat bags is continuing to Thaparkar gudowns by Provincial Food Department and it to be completed within 02 days while supply of remaining 22,000 wheat bags would be followed this practice.

He said that at present 1,74,000 drought affected families so far have been provided wheats while wheat supply to additional 44,000 drought affected families would be completed within 2 to 3 days next and soon.

He made it clear that Sindh Government was ready to provide more wheat in case if required. He said that in addition to supply of wheat Relief packages containing kitchen items were also being distributed among the drought affected families and same is still going on.

Mr. Taj Haider said that he (Taj Haider) is present at the Mithi, and visiting other drought affected areas, he never left the site that according to him reflects that the relief work is going on, it has not been finished.

We, the Peoples Party leaders and workers will not leave the people of Thar alone is this difficult time but to extend the Relief activities at broad spectrum and added that we the PPP Government is doing the same in practical by launching the supply of Relief goods at Achhro Thar as well.
