Arrest of Hurriyet leaders, activists in IOK flayed

Srinagar, November 03, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Peoples Political Front, Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil, has strongly denounced the arrest of Hurriyet leaders and activists. Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the arrest of Hurriyet leaders and activists started immediately whenever the announcement was made for the holding of sham polls in the territory. He said that main objective of these detentions was to prevent the leaders from conducting campaign against the election drama.

He said that the leaders and activists, who were at the forefront in relief activities after the recent devastating floods, were put behind the bars. He said that the action had exposed the real face of India. He deplored that during the past over six decades, Indian rulers had failed to realize that so-called elections could not provide a solution to the Kashmir dispute, which could only be settled through peaceful dialogue process.

Meanwhile, the Patron of Peoples Political Front, Fazl Haq Qureshi, has strongly denounced the imposition of continued curbs on the Muharram processions in the territory.
