Balochistan Information Secretary Advocates for Responsible Journalism and Support for Media Academy

Quetta: During a visit to the Media Academy, Balochistan’s Information Secretary Imran Khan emphasized the crucial role of responsible journalism in society and outlined government initiatives aimed at addressing the challenges faced by journalists in the province.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Secretary Khan highlighted the importance of aligning media practices with modern standards and ensuring media freedom through impartial reporting. Accompanied by Director General Public Relations Mohammad Noor Khetran, Khan engaged in discussions with Abdul Khaliq Rand, President of the Quetta Press Club, and other cabinet officials, who briefed him on the operations and aspirations of the Media Academy.

Khan listened to the concerns raised by members of the local press and promised to convey these issues to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, expressing a commitment to improving conditions for journalists. He mentioned that the Journalists’ Welfare Fund would be utilized more effectively to aid journalists affected by violence and that he would advocate for enhanced facilities at the Media Academy to foster professional training for journalism students.
