Bangladesh Seeks Extradition of Former Prime Minister from India

Dhaka: The interim government of Bangladesh has officially requested the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid from India, following her resignation and subsequent departure from the country on August 5.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Interim Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus made the announcement during a national address commemorating 100 days of his administration. The call for extradition comes in the wake of Hasina Wajid’s resignation amidst extensive protests led by students opposing a contentious quota system.

Yunus emphasized the government’s commitment to seeking justice for the fatalities that occurred during the protests, which, The interim administration has assured the public of accountability for all casualties associated with the unrest.
