Karachi, Bank Alfalah, a leading name in Pakistan’s banking sector, has launched the country’s first Digital Payments Sales and Service Centers. Located in Badar Commercial DHA and Disco Bakery Gulshan, these centers are designed to cater specifically to the needs of merchants and small businesses, offering streamlined access to payment acceptance and financing within a digital ecosystem. This initiative marks a significant step in the bank’s ongoing efforts to promote digital banking solutions.
According to Bank Alfalah, these digital payment hubs are part of the bank’s broader strategy to expand its digital footprint following its success in digital banking, recognized by winning the Best Digital Banking award at the Pakistan Banking Awards for two consecutive years. The bank has demonstrated remarkable digital engagement, with 80% of counter transactions and 99% of eligible account openings this year conducted through its paperless digital channels.
Bank Alfalah’s new digital centers are a testament to its commitment to innovative banking solutions, catering to over 200 merchants in the area. Services offered include automated fund withdrawals and deposits, self-service digital merchant onboarding, payment card issuance, instant cash/cheque management, and support for working-capital requirements. The center at Badar Commercial DHA was inaugurated by the Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Dr. Inayat Hussain, alongside senior management figures from Bank Alfalah, including President and CEO Atif Bajwa.
During the launch, Dr. Hussain highlighted the importance of digitization for inclusive banking in Pakistan and the State Bank’s dedication to fostering this transformation. He stressed the role of banks in leveraging digital channels and innovative concepts like these centers to enhance financial convenience for Pakistani citizens.
