In Bosnia, thousands of people gathered at a memorial center and cemetery in Potocari, to mark the 23rd anniversary of 1995 Srebrenica genocide.
More than eight thousand Bosnian Muslim men and boys were killed by Serb forces when they attacked the UN safe area of Srebrenica in July 1995, despite presence of Dutch troops tasked with acting as international peacekeepers.
They killed about two thousand men and boys on July 11 alone, while some fifteen thousand fled to surrounding mountains who were hunted down by the Serb troops, killing six thousand of them in the forests.
