British High Commission and Pakistan’s Youth Programme Forge Partnership for Empowerment

Islamabad, In a significant move to bolster youth empowerment in Pakistan, the British High Commission’s Deputy Political Counselor, Mark Bailey, met with Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between the UK and Pakistan to support educational and employment initiatives for young people, particularly marginalized communities and women.

According to Press Information Department, discussions during the meeting revolved around the ongoing cooperation between the British High Commission and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, highlighting both parties’ commitment to youth empowerment through various initiatives. Mark Bailey congratulated Chairman Rana Mashhood on his recent appointment and emphasized the UK’s support for Pakistan’s efforts in driving forward youth-focused policies and programs.

Chairman Rana Mashhood discussed the scope of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, which addresses critical areas impacting youth, including employment, education, and skills training. He specifically highlighted the “Green Youth Movement,” which involves 19,000 members from public universities across Pakistan actively engaged in raising awareness about climate change.

Both parties reaffirmed their dedication to empowering Pakistani youth, stressing the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve inclusive growth and development. The meeting underscored the strong partnership between the British High Commission and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, setting a foundation for future initiatives that aim to enhance the socio-economic landscape in Pakistan.
