British MPs Back Kashmiris’ Right to Self-Determination

Bradford: A recent initiative by the Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International (JKSDMI) has led to meetings with newly elected British parliamentarians across various cities in the United Kingdom, focusing on supporting the Kashmiri pursuit of self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during these meetings, MPs Andrew Gwin and Naz Shah voiced their strong support for the Kashmiri right to self-determination. They remarked on the historical significance of July 13, 1931—a date marked by the killing of 22 Kashmiris by Dogra soldiers—as a pivotal moment in Kashmir’s history. MP Andrew Gwin committed to advocating for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute, emphasizing the importance of human rights and prosperity for the Kashmiri people.

The campaign involves a series of events organized by JKSDMI, set to continue until August 15, aiming to raise awareness and garner support for Kashmir. These include seminars, conferences, and other activities across the UK, engaging with academics, think tanks, and human rights activists to highlight ongoing issues in the region.
