BSF Constable and Local Youth Drown in Tawi River in Jammu

Jammu, A tragic incident occurred in the Tawi River in Jammu, where two young men, including a constable from the Indian Border Security Force (BSF), drowned. The event has cast a pall over the local community, sparking a search and rescue response.

According to Kashmir Media Service, BSF Constable Abhishek Thakur, aged 20, and 19-year-old Rajinder Singh were bathing in the river in the Kishenpur area under the jurisdiction of the Jhajjar Kotli Police Station when they drowned. The incident was brought to the attention of local authorities when bystanders noticed clothes left unattended on the riverbank and alerted the police.

Officials have confirmed that the body of Rajinder Singh has been recovered and returned to his family after necessary medico-legal formalities were completed. Meanwhile, the search continues for Constable Thakur, who was reported to be on a 15-day leave from his duties at the time of the accident.
