According to Radio Pakistan, the Federal Cabinet approved various policies, including the production of vaccines at the national level, the first-ever National Agriculture Biotechnology Policy, National Seed Policy, and National Skills Development Policy. The cabinet’s nod to the vaccine production policy marks a significant step toward reducing dependency on imports, saving valuable foreign exchange, and achieving self-sufficiency in vaccine production. A special committee under the supervision of DRAP has been formed to determine prices and ensure the quality of vaccines.
The cabinet also approved the appointment of teachers from grades 1 to 15 on daily wages in the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) as visiting faculty, aligning with the FDE (Visiting Faculty) Regulations 2025. This decision follows the qualification level criteria and is in light of the Supreme Court’s decision.
Moreover, the National Skills Development Policy received the cabinet’s approval. The policy aims to align the workforce’s capabilities with the needs of the country’s industry and trade, and the demands of the modern era. It includes special measures for international standard training and certification for Pakistanis going abroad, with cooperation between the federation and all provinces. The private sector will play a crucial role in implementing this policy.
