Caretaker Government would implement policies that are in national interest: Petroleum minister

Islamabad, April 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): While referring to statements published in the media, Petroleum Minister Mr. Sohail Wajahat H. Siddiqui has said that the caretaker Government would implement policies that are in the national interest, and the Minister has negated the impression that person specific policies are being continued.

The Minister further expressed hope that there were no malafide actions taken in the past and reiterated that during his tenure complete transparency and merit would be ensured in all future decisions.

In a meeting with the Minister for Water and Power Dr. Musadik Malik, Petroleum Minister Mr. Sohail Wajahat highlighted strengthening the relationship between the two ministries for controlling the energy shortfall.

Dr. Sania Nishtar, Minister for Science and Technology also called on the Petroleum Minister and discussed areas of collaboration in the field of petroleum education and research. Mr. Sohail Wajahat emphasized upon the importance of research into developing cost effective technologies whereby consumers could be provided with energy sources at an affordable cost.
