Lahore: Chakwal Spinning Mills Limited has announced an Extraordinary General Meeting (EOGM) to be held on August 2, 2024, at the company’s registered office in Lahore. The key agenda items include a proposed name change and a shift in the company’s principal business activities to the information technology sector.
The upcoming EOGM, details of which were circulated among TRE Certificate Holders of the Exchange, will include the ratification of a waiver to hold the meeting on short notice and the approval of changing the company’s name to “Quantum Cloud and AI Technologies Limited.” This change aims to better reflect the company’s revised business focus. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the notice of this meeting will be published in daily newspapers on July 20, 2024.
Additionally, the shareholders will vote on altering the Object Clause of the Memorandum of Association to accommodate new activities in the information technology sector. This move signifies a strategic pivot towards what the board views as a more dynamic industry segment.
The EOGM will also address other business matters, which may be introduced with the permission of the Chair. Shareholders wishing to participate in the meeting must ensure their shares are transferred by July 25, 2024, as the company’s Share Transfer Books will be closed from July 26 until the date of the meeting.
The meeting’s attendance protocols, as specified by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, require individuals to authenticate their identities through original identification documents and CDC account registration details. Corporate entities must present a certified Board Resolution or notarized power of attorney authorizing their representatives.
