Karachi: The Chancellor Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Z.A. Nizami, Monday directed the setting up of a team of experienced Civil Engineers to carry out the work at the 200 acres of land allotted to the University in “Education City” by Sindh Government.
He issued the directive while chairing a meeting which was attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr Prof Saiyid Nazir Ahmed, Registrar Shah Mahmood Hussain Syed and others concerned with the university’s land project.
The meeting discussed various issues as to the utilization of the land, specially the establishment of IT Park in keeping with the latest trends in the field of Information Technology.
Mr Nizami pointed out that planned utilization of the land was most imperative keeping in view the ever-growing prospects of the university in various disciplines of engineering and the need for carrying out advance research activities.
He directed that a Master Plan of the project be submitted at the next meeting to be held on Monday next along with the proposals to sort out the allied issues.
The Chancellor said that he will also pay a visit to the site to review the progress of the ongoing development.
