Sir Syed University observing Jauhar Day on 4th January

Karachi: Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar is remembered as a fiery leader of South Asia. He is celebrated as a hero by the Muslims of Pakistan, who inspired the Pakistan Movement. He is remembered in the history for his remarkable Khilafat Movement and the Non-Cooperation Movement and his leadership in Muslim education.

Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology is holding a ceremony, presided over by Z.A. Nizami, Chancellor SSUET, in the memory of Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar to recall his services and efforts to uplift the status of Muslims in South Asia.

The event will be held on Wednesday 4th January 2012 at 11:30 am at Bashir A. Malik Auditorium, Block ‘F’ SSUET. Speakers include Adnan Akhtar, Azhar Sharif, Afzal Karim, Saima Fatima and Saima Faiza. Mahwish Patel will conduct the ceremony and famous poet Khumar Farooqui will pay poetic tribute to the great leader of subcontinent, Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar.
