Chief Secretary chairs 2nd meeting of Sindh Solid Waste Management Board

Karachi, July 07, 2015 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Muhammad Siddique Memon has advised the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board to ascertain the qualitative work in accordance with the chartered functions, thereof in addition to the mutual consultation of all the SSWMB members.

He stressed the need of coordinated efforts for smooth functioning of SSWMB. Siddique Memon was presiding over 2nd meeting of SSWMB. The Managing Director SSWMB Roshan Shaikh briefed the participants that the experts have viewed that “3MW energy could be generated by utilizing 2400-3000 tons of solid waste. He also informed that regional offices of SSWMB are being set up in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Shaheed Benazirabad. The meeting was informed that the studies for Larkana and Nawabshah have been completed.

The Chief Secretary advised the M.D. SWMB to ensure provision of Agenda to the members at least seven (07) days prior to meeting. Secretary Health Dr. Saeed Mangnijo, Secretary Development Ms. Rehana Memon, Secretary Katchi Abadies Dr. Nawaz Shaikh and other Board members also spoke. The minutes of the 1st meeting and budget of SSWMB for current financial year were approved in the meeting.
