Chief Secretary Sindh asks secretaries to strengthen liaison specifically with Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Relief Commissioner, Rehabilitation Department and Health Department in respect of Thar Relief Services

Karachi, December 19, 2014 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiana has asked the administrative secretaries to strengthen liaison mutually, specifically with PDMA (Provincial Disaster Management Authority), Relief Commissioner, Rehabilitation Department and Health Department in respect of Thar Relief Services.

He said this while exchanging his views with Maj General Mohammad Abdul Aziz the GOC-18th Division (Hyderabad), during a meeting to review Thar Relief Service, on Friday in Sindh Secretariat.

The meeting was also attended by Secretary Rehabilitation ROshan A. Shaikh, Secretary Special Initiative Department Syed Salman Shah, Director General, PDMA, Additional Health Secretary Health and Additional Relief Commissioner Munawwar Ali Mahirar.

Secretary Rehabilitation informed the meeting that the Major issue of Thar is the Scarcity of water, all out efforts are being made to ameliorate the Thar people for provision of food, water and other necessities.

Maj. General M.A. Aziz viewed that availability of para medical staff is badly needed in thar, that their sufficiency must be developed. He also emphasized upon coordinated efforts, to this effect. Chief Secretary expressed pleasure over the relief services being provided in Thar, by the Pak. Army and hoped more fruitful results would appear in due course. He also thanked 18th Division activation in this regar.
